Content Inside: 2007 Chevrolet Excellence in Music Award Recognizing Outstanding Performance By African-American High School Seniors Pursuing Music 2007 Chevrolet Excellence in Music Award BACKGROUND PURPOSE The Chevrolet Excellence in Music Award has been established by the Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors Corporation to recognize outstanding African-American high school seniors from across the United States pursuing college studies in music. The program provides $1,000 scholarships to a select number of outstanding students to assist them with their first year of college expenses. ELIGIBILITY To be eligible for a Chevrolet Excellence in Music Award, a student must meet the following requirements: · An African-American student completing the senior year of high school with sufficient credits to graduate in the spring term of 2007 · Possess a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale · Have demonstrated both academic excellence as well as outstanding community service through activities volunteerism and work experiences ·
