Content Inside: First Ever Regenerative Endodontics Conference held at NSU The first ever conference on regenerative endodontics was held on the 23rd February 2007 at Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In the opening address, the AAE President; Dr. John Olmstead described the steps taken by the AAE Board of Directors to address the issue of stem cells, tissue engineering, gene therapy and bioactive treatments with regard to endodontics, in the new field called regenerative endodontics. In April 2006, the AAE Board of Directors approved the appointment of a special committee to address the mega-issue of what the AAE should be doing with regard to regenerative endodontics. In response to the background paper, a new standing committee called the Regenerative Endodontics Committee was created in January 2007 by the AAE Board of Directors.
