This one falls under the what-will-they-think-of-next category. An Australian company has come up with a revolutionary new coffee lid that changes colour to let you know if the lid is on properly and if the coffee is hot. Its called the SmartLidSystems. The lid may be smart, although Im not sure the users are. If you buy a cup of coffee, shouldnt you automatically assume that its going to be hot? Apparently not. Remember the case of the woman who sued McDonalds after she was scalded spilling a hot cuppa joe on herself? The lid changes colour from brown to red depending on the temperature.
