Content Inside: DIY POD Heat Shield (Nissan 200SX S13) DIY POD Heat Shield (Nissan 200SX S13) Why Shield? I installed a POD filter and experienced loss of low-end torque. The car becomes sluggish especially at low speeds, more so during hot days. While the POD allows more air to the engine, sucking in hot air can defeat the purpose of the POD in the first place and in some cases even make the car perform `worse than the stock air box. Hence a heat shield with some measure of `air-tightness must be fabricated to perform the following functions effectively minimize hot air from the engine bay from reaching the POD shield off direct heat coming from the engine itself After installing the shield, the improvement was really noticeable though I still felt it was still lacking behind the airbox setup.
